When it comes to food, water, livestock, ammo, fuel and all other basic items, Zach and Kelly won't starve, but they don't have an abundant supply thanks to the Marines who killed Zach's family and the looters that followed.
Zach is well armed with a Mossberg Shotgun, his ever reliable Kimber 1911 and his trusty machete. Guns are no problem but finding ammunition is. He has some but not nearly enough in his estimation.

Destiny Zombie Rules Book 4 eBook David Achord Reviews
Great continuation to the Zombie Rules series. I really find the series to be as authentic as a zombie book series can be with a well thought out world and characters that have realistic motivations and behaviors. No silly Walking Dead tv show dumb mistakes here - just dramatic tension building from hard choices that the characters have to make.
My favorite zombie book series currently running - followed by Peter Meredith's Undead World series and the Arisen series.
Just finish my 2nd round of reading Zombie Rules. Every bit as good as the first time.
Quick review good read overall, interesting plot twists, solid characters, Zach can be a bit insufferable. Altogether fun an engaging.
Writing note stop using the word "quip"as in "she quipped/he quipped". You don't understand the word (a smart, witty comment), you use it way too much (three times on one page), and "she said/he said" is just fine. Also make it clear who is saying a particular line. It's annoying having to backtrack a conversation.
And "trees and other fauna"? "Flora" was the word you were looking for. You need a good proofreader.
This one was a little subdued compared to the first three. Hated seeing everybody die off and I was hoping it was going to pick up some but it really looks like it's going into another direction. I'm in for the long haul and hoping that the next one will keep me going. Zach's still young so he has miles to go and three kids to train.
The wait was worth it! This really brought everything to a very excellent end...or is it? I was so freaked out at the end of the 3rd book, but, David Achord did this series justice and wrapped it all up with this final epic story. (I'm not mad anymore David!) Thanks for the great story, characters and superb storytelling, and I must say that of the hundreds of stories of this genre that I have read, this is my very favorite!
Take a deep breath. Destiny is very different from Zfinity, book 3, where many of our favorite characters were killed off. I think most of us fans could not understand why...but I think Destiny will answer your questions and let the healing begin as we recover from where we were left at the end of book 3.
I laughed so much in the first two books of the series. I think we can all agree, losing Julie, Fred, and many others left many of us thinking the author was taking this story in the wrong direction at the end of Zfinity. Let me assure you, Zach picks himself up and continues on. I did not laugh in this book but I saw the evolution from a sarcastic smart mouth kid to a more thoughtful and pragmatic man who knows his own failings.
The zombie apocalypse is a great tool to bring out the best in certain people, the survivors. It was fun to read the first 2 books but not so much fun to read the third. When someone is "Destined" to change humanity, they have to go through trials and tribulations and be tested in battle.
This book is very low key and resets the story in a direction that would not have been possible if the author had not been brave enough to make drastic changes in the story line. It was painful to get here but you will enjoy reading this next chapter.
I have read all of the current books in the series, there are 5, not 4. This is probably one of the best Zombie series out there. Well written, and there are several twists that are unusual for a zombie book. The author also looks a little more at the basics of everyday life in regards to a disaster scenario. But be warned, he's also not afraid to kill off anyone at any time...
Do yourself a favor, save the annoyance and order all 5 at once.
